I think love is a lot more than worship, because it has to do with learning to maintain respect for a person through their faults as well as your own, and to stick with them even when things get difficult. Freud made some good points, but as far as we know he never learned to listen to opinions which differed from his own... which probably means that he never really learned to love.Ambleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15573462034481176825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1182097338046850750.post-36731442660822448182009-03-16T10:13:00.000-07:002009-03-16T10:13:00.000-07:00This,for me,throws out parallels between love and ...This,
for me,
throws out parallels between love and religion.
I think love is like religion;
as does Freud -
The Oedipal root of religion etc.
I dont understand the line between love and worship,
when love is reciprocated worship -
Yes?
So religion is unreciprocated worship,
So God is an unrequited love.Ben Brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15425870567342630963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1182097338046850750.post-68391675499576900742009-03-16T00:25:00.000-07:002009-03-16T00:25:00.000-07:00The line about 'no one wants to be loved anymore, ...The line about 'no one wants to be loved anymore, just worshipped and adored' Oh my god, that is sooooo true, I could tell you a little story about a **** like that!Bipolar Brit!https://www.blogger.com/profile/15295815742271592336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1182097338046850750.post-88539258794200241852009-03-15T00:43:00.000-07:002009-03-15T00:43:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.GagayMDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10623803063825899512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1182097338046850750.post-41319137847885451102009-03-14T23:17:00.000-07:002009-03-14T23:17:00.000-07:00Because no one wants to be loved anymoreJust worsh...Because no one wants to be loved anymore
Just worshipped and adored
Because love requires a kind of suicide
A self-sacrifice of sorts
Because I am better on my own, on my own
Or so I'm told...

YOU SAID IT BEST.
